This year we’re enacting a goal to get closer to some food sources to understand and appreciate them more. It was a lovely date as we talked, planned and dreamed on the road trip, listened to music, ate apple pie, played card games over lunch, watched llamas play in a paddock and walked the orchard beside some resident kangaroos. I wore white jeans which thankfully didn’t turn out to be a bad decision! We also came home with 10kg of carrots which has meant a subsequent apple and carrot cook-a-thon has been underway the past two weeks!

I love the glow of those apples too and the tiny glimpse of yourself looking very chic. Thanks for your recent comments Lucent, you understand me so well xo

How cute does that kangaroo look in his apple grove – and what a delightful day you had getting closer to your food sources!
I’m guessing there was a carrot/parsnip bake sometime in the past two weeks but would love to see some other things from the apple and carrot cook-a-thon in a future post. xxx

Beautiful photos. Love the one of you holding the apple. But the kangaroo in the orchard. Such an odd sight for a non-Aussie!

I still can’t bring myself to wear white jeans. The fear of tarnishing them leads me to play it safe. Loved the kangaroo.

That shot of the kangaroo just made me smile :)

It reminds me of our apple picking back in the autumn seems a long time ago now! The kangaroo in the orchard is such an unusual sight!
