My mum and I have always been very close and the best of friends. We aim for a date together once a week, whether it’s breakfast at a cafe, a movie, shopping for a new pair of shoes, doing errands or even just necessary paperwork. On this day we visited an open garden so I could take photos and she could acquire inspiration for her own garden. Then she took me to a lovely French-farmhouse-inspired cafe/store where I picked up a couple of goodies for the kitchen and refuelled with simple, homemade fare. We then went to a second hand store, the first time in a couple of years for me – I didn’t find anything but mum picked up a gorgeous vintage wood-handle egg beater that just might need to be a photo prop in future! Another lovely date, mum. Love you.

Do you have any regular dates with a loved one?

That sounds just lovely! I’m too much of a loner to have regular dates, but when I do have a date with a friend I always love it.

Sadly I live over 2hrs away from my family – so no dates for me!

I did go and spend the weekend with them last weekend, and enjoyed every moment :)

My mum and I are close too Lucent but we only see each other occasionally. When we do see each other we love having lunch, coffee or a glass of wine together or just pottering in the garden. We are lucky aren’t we?

That sounds like a wonderful date with your mom. My mom lives in Singapore so I only see her once a year!

What a lovely day you had with your mum – and that French farmhouse -cafe/store sounds wonderful. We have a similar one near us that I love.
Mother/daughter dates are very special and I’m also lucky to share many with my daughter as she lives in Sydney too.
Looking forward to seeing the wooden-handled egg beater photo – I remember them from my youth :)

I have the same relationship with my mom! Though we don’t have weekly dates since she’s on the other side of the country. We talk at least once a day. It helps make the miles seem not as far.

awww I love going on mom/daughter dates with my mum. It’s one of the things I miss absolutely the most now that I live overseas. And my mum totally loves checking out gardens too! That one looks like a lovely place to have spent your day :)

Sounds like a great day! My mom and I are close, too. I cherish more and more the moments like the day you describe as I get older and wiser.

How lovely foe you to have a regular weekly date with your Mum. I do try and meet up with my brother and sister on a regular basis although we live so far apart. It feels even more special since our parents died. I also enjoy doing things with my daughter, it’s lovely having her home for a few weeks! A Mother and daughter relationship can be so special.

I think that’s just so sweet. I have mother/daughter dates with my now 7 yr old little girl. We go to London and hang out. We take turns going to places that I or she loves, people watch in cafes, go to our favorite eating places, stroll and explore etc. We enjoy it a lot so I try to fit it into my schedule at least once a month.

Sounds like you both had a wonderful day!

I don’t think I”ve ever had a mother / daughter date before. I’m one of four girls (and two boys, both of whom are now married – so really, six girls now!), so mostly girly days include my sisters. I wouldn’t have it any other way though :)
