2 April 2013

Quality time with my auntie, uncle, cousin, his wife, and a menagerie of animals. Gathering around the beautiful wood table for dinners. Wearing my auntie’s gumboots to play country girl. Solo walks around the property with one of the dogs by my side always. Signs of autumn emerging. Taking photos with my husband as we wandered down the long driveway. Getting my wish of a foggy morning on our last day. Laughing at the cows talking to us as they were moved from one paddock to the next. The cuddliest cat ever. Recipe books, novels, kindles, newspapers and magazines strewn about on the breakfast table. Snoozing on the couches. Smelling herbs. Admiring the view. Cheese. Homemade sausages. Seafood. Gardenia flowers welcoming us to our guest room and farewelling us in the car thanks to floral fairies. Ever grateful for the weekend, the beauty around us, cute animals, my family and my husband.

Ahhhh what a glorious 4 day weekend on their farm. I hope your break was lovely too?

more farm weekend photos to come soon

That sounds like a truly wonderful break – it’s the simple things that matter really, isn’t it? Our week-end included a 99th birthday dinner (not mine, but a truly inspirational friend’s!)

Beautiful photos Lucent, they should be in a certain stylish country magazine! It looks like a lovely property.

What a perfect way to celebrate Easter! I used to love spending time at my Uncle and Aunty’s farm. They’ve now moved to the city, and I miss picking stone fruit and swimming in their dam.

What a wonderful extra long weekend!

Sadly my husband had to fly overseas at the last minute for business, so fingers crossed we can make up for it over the ANZAC Day weekend (we’ve taken the Friday!)

Such beautiful pictures, I love the farm life. And the dog? My boyfriends parents used to have 3 border collies and they are the best dogs out there. Looks like a fantastic Easter weekend!!
Oh and you definitely need to take your husband to the Great Ocean Road, such a wonderful place!

Beautiful photos, as always. Words, too! This post makes me long for some quality time on my Aunty & Uncle’s farm back home. Or the excursion I’m going on to a little Italian farm on Saturday will do! :)
