It’s getting a little Julie & Julia around here! The cooking club challenge for this year (rather than last year’s monthly format) was borne out of my own project. I was speaking with my husband about feeling overwhelmed by all the cooking blogs and he challenged me to cook every recipe in one book. I loved the idea of not being able to avoid cooking a recipe; working through the books I own and determining which ones are indeed “keepers”; and the simplicity of one source for the entire time. The project also aligns perfectly with my desire to entertain more often – already I have hosted 5 dinner parties this year and have gained greater confidence and new skills in the kitchen. Making people happy and quality time together is a great side effect of this mission!
The meals shown in this post were nearly all from my chosen book, Fast, Fresh, Simple by Donna Hay. I’m so happy to have these wonderful women on this journey with me, each in their own way. Others have indicated they might join us later and I welcome anyone who wishes to do so!
