moments in *oslo*

4 July 2012

A year on from our time in Oslo, I can’t help but miss this lovely city right now. On our long walks we lost track of time in the near-constant summer light. That light is a blessing for me as it allows me to see more in the hours after dinner. We stumbled across a brass band on the waterfront, Eric Clapton performing in a park, an Italian slow food store, elegant neighbourhoods, beautiful buildings, puppies, delicious cheeses and fish. We stood in line to order tasty late-night fare with other locals after the athletics meet featuring Usain Bolt. Here my love affair with the European habit of pot plants on balconies and in doorways set in for a lifetime. Lovely Oslo kicked off our time in Europe wonderfully.

It’s a gorgeous city. The architecture is stunning. I can’t get over how clean the streets are. That dog has such a wise, beautiful face. I just want to hug him!!!

Gorgeous lady. I really want to get up there but I don’t think it will happen this trip. Luckily these places will always be there hey??

Glorious photos – the city looks wonderful. I love that you stumbled across Eric Clapton playing in a park – it’s moments like that which make an entire holiday for me – so unexpected and I’m sure, amazing! The photo of the dog is captivating… He looks a little sad though doesn’t he?

Scandinavian cities are so clean – it’s beautiful. I hope they always stay that way (though I was dismayed at the amount of graffiti in Copenhagen). Go soon….

I love these magical posts of your travels. Sweet how the midnight sun expands your enjoyment. We don’t have quite as long days as Norway, but I love our long, lingering summer evenings this time of year.
