I adore the concept and design of The Grounds. It might be trendy, but they’re working to stay relevant to everyone including dog owners and families. We were disappointed that the many coffee options were not available and only espresso and pour-over was on offer. There were other issues that I feel will be ironed out with time, as we visited only a month after opening.

This place is sure to serve as inspiration for further establishments. I think it’s exciting that the industry continues to grow and aspire for holistic, enthusiastic approaches, more urban farming and giving customers the best experience and food possible.

The photography is superb! I wish we have a similar set up here. You’re absolutely right. I used to purchase food straight from the growers in the market when I was in Greece or France. The flavor is more intense than the bland crap I get from the supermarkets.

Good morning Lucent…I have read a few things about The Grounds recently, I love your perspective and your photos! This place looks really incredible and makes me wish I was closer to the big smoke. Was the coffee good…it looks amazing :)

I’ve been wanting to check out this place especially since there are so few good places to eat in Alexandria. Maybe I’ll wait a little longer while they figure out the little problems.

Oh, this looks like a wonderful place to have a relaxed brunch on the weekend! Your shots are wonderful – so crisp and clear.

Thank you for your lovely comment on my Memphis post. We are actually heading to New Orleans next weekend – I would love your tips if you have time to share them?
