- a sleep in (as best as this early riser can) – morning walk & ingredients acquisition – old men in suits with medals whom I want to hug – that haunting trumpet song – baked & wrapped anzac biscuits – read philosophy – created a delicious sauce for mexican lunch – tv show on olive oil in spain – a long walk as the sun dropped – husband to a spontaneous boy’s night at the movies – a night in for me with my dog, gossip girl & hart of dixie – a deep, sound sleep in a wonderful nation -

So jealous of your public holiday – both of your sleep in and your ANZAC biscuits. From far away it is easy to appreciate the wonderful nation that we can proudly call home.

A good day. Yesterday was supposed to be filled with rain here in SF, but we saw sun, and I was told I am healing as I should be. All is good.

Sounds a perfect way of spending a day!
Anzac day wasn’t forgotten in England either. I saw in the local paper that servicemen had gathered in the wind and the rain to lay wreaths and mark Anzac Day. Weymouth had been the depot where many of your servicemen had been bought to before being sent to UK hospitals.

Sounds like a lovely anzac day. I’m quite jealous of your sleep-in. Since we got the pup, sleep-ins seem an impossiblity. Not that i’m complaining.

ANZAC biscuits are my favourite biscuits – ever! I haven’t had one in about six years, but the other day I found a pretty good looking gluten and dairy free recipe and I headed to the shops to get the ingredients only to find Coles had sold out of golden syrup! I guess around this time of year, golden syrup sales are like the sales of sticky tape and batteries around Christmas (soooo hard to find if you run out of either!).

Love this! It felt so weird being at work on ANZAC day and I kept thinking of home. Don’t tell anyone here but I really do think we have the best country in the world!

I happened to be visiting Australia several years ago on Anzac Day. I know what you mean about the “old men in suits with medals” – charming heroes, every one. Sounds like a perfect day.
