dinner at our place

2 April 2012

I spent the afternoon creating a scrumptious Chinese style lamb roast, a recipe my mother-in-law found. I served it with a salad of figs, fetta, rocket (arugula) and a spicy pomegranate gourmet dressing. Lest we get too sophisticated, I kept dessert fun and child-like with spiders (floats). Our guests loved it! We talked until midnight, laughing, sharing stories of our different childhoods and writing on napkins. With heavy eyes we reluctantly ended it, knowing there are many more nights to continue our conversations. After we stacked the dishwasher, I placed their gift on the bench so it would greet me in the morning. Sure enough, I rose the next day and smiled when I saw the bag and recalled a great night entertaining friends.

Spicy pomegranate dressing…you’ll be writing your own cookbook at this rate. Sounds delicious. You are really, really good at photographing food. I say that because I know how hard it is to do. Bravo!

I love flowers – they make me smile everytime i see them or see pictures of them. Your dinner sounds delicious too and i love that you made spiders for desert, what a throw back to childhood!

You write so beautifully that I didn’t even need photos from the evening to imagine the delightful time you had with friends! The photos were then a gift to view!

I found you via Miss Minimalist and am so glad I did!
