bikes & baskets *copenhagen*
My friends, I give you one huge post of bike porn. Baskets included.
I don’t ride bikes anymore. But I have a deep love of the concepts of people-powered transport, slowing down to enjoy life mindfully, looking fashionable while doing it, and an appreciation for some of the gorgeous bikes and baskets out there. Having been a long-time fan of Copenhagen Cycle Chic, I was very excited to visit this city. I knew that cycling was a normal yet celebrated way of living a quality life of health and simplicity. Yet I was still totally flabbergasted at the number of cyclists on the roads. And the urban infrastructure that encourages people-powered transport, hooray! Whilst wandering the streets with my husband, I marvelled at the number of bikes outside apartment buildings and their casual lean against a graffiti’d or brick or gracefully-aged wall.

uh, I love all those pretty pictures of the bikes!! lovely!
and the baskets!!!
wonderful images…had a similar experience in The Netherlands, when my daughter and I rented bikes there…it was so pleasurable having bike roads (they were paved, not paths!) that we could take just about anywhere
…
truly enjoying each bit of your most recent travels snuggled between home and daily life
….
sending you sun and warmth from Minnesota…a rare thing for october
I want a bike! I would even take that one floating in the water waiting to be saved! One of my favorite images is one of Audrey Hepburn riding her bike with her yorkie “Famous” in the basket. So sweet!
beautiful images!!!
oh, bikes are just begging to be photographed, aren’t they? especially the charming ones with the baskets.
i swear i’d stop every two feet in copenhagen to take a shot.
Love these photos. The danish are so stylish aren’t they, with their gorgeous wicker baskets. That poor bike in the canal. Still manages to be beautiful.
There is nothing like a bit of bike porn. The chains, the handlebars, those little bells that go ‘ding ding.’ Hahaha. Gorgeous photos!
Lovely images! I used to live in Cambridge UK, which like Copenhagen is vintage cycle heaven… they really are things of beauty… wicker baskets (of course!) included!

Love some bike porn! it’s the same here in Holland. Now that we are searching for an apartment the first on our list is some good fiets (bikes). The infrastucture is amazing. I’ve been borrowing a bike but the Dutch are all so tall I can’t touch the ground when I stop!
I love the idea of a bicycle friendly city. Whenever I visit the coast or Perth I marvel at how many people ride.
It’s so hard in my city! Far too hilly!
