quieten the mind
That was my goal for this week. It coincidently was a good week to do this, as my energy turned to supporting a family member after a horrible freak accident put her dear friend in ICU.
Went to sleep with the sounds of David Gray, James Blunt and Michael Franti calming me. Decided that reading blogs on “how to blog” is just counterproductive and making me lose confidence, so I’m going to pay them less attention. After trying yet again to like Twitter, I backed away. I just can’t fall in love with it. Relived beautiful memories by editing my Paris photos from our June holiday. Did a little decluttering. Sat outside in the spring air. Movies with my mum. Walked, talked and laughed with my husband. Wrote cards to loved ones. I hope you have found some ways to quieten your mind this week if need be.

My (almost) two year old was perusing your blog with me. When we got to the picture of your snack, he said “Hot! num, num, num.” I guess that’s about right.
Please disregard all advice on how to blog, because you do it do well, and so uniquely “you” already, I would be sad if you changed it.
Gorgeous photos, as always! I love how you focus on details and make them beautiful to contemplate. Yes, I’ve had a calming week myself, on vacation at home, doing some house projects, reading, taking time to cook really fresh food…all things I love. Take care!
Love your redesigned blog! Simple, black and white blogs are my favorite. It sounds like your family member’s friend is going to be alright. I’m glad. You’ve reminded me to write real letters to a few friends this weekend. Pen and paper can be so cathartic.
Sorry to hear about the person in the ICU. Hope all is well. Your photos are exquisite. If there is anything more perfectly formed than an orchid I don’t know what it is. Just lovely!
I hope your family member’s friend is okay.
