heading out of *portland, oregon*

5 July 2011

With our two awesome friends, we jumped into V’s huge Dodge, visited a drive-through coffee shop (exclamation mark!) and hit the road for some time in nature under blue skies. (I can’t remember the name of the falls with the beautiful pedestrian bridge in front – does anyone know what I’m talking about? They’re about 20mins drive from the historical roadside stop pictured with the street lanterns overlooking the water) UPDATE: Thank you to my blogger friend Erin from A Number of Things who identified the falls I’m referring to as Multnomah Falls.

Random fact about me. I love big trucks. Dodges, Hummers, F350s etc. Yep, I know. Not so good for that “nature under blue skies” stuff. Can’t be helped, it’s in my DNA. Besides, it will always be a long-distance love affair. Unless I win a truck along with a chauffeur in a cute little hat. No one wants a legally blind lady behind any wheel, let alone a beast this big!

You’re referring to Multnomah Falls. It is beautiful, and there is a sad Native legend that goes with it.
