winter photo swap

11 March 2011

Over summer I participated in a photo swap for the first time. It was organised by the lovely blogger of The Sweet Light. I have adored her photography for a long time now and I am pleased as punch to be getting to know her more as time goes by. Thank you for all your awesome work in making this all come together. You have given us all a winter gift through this.

So, while we in the southern hemisphere were sweating through summer, it was great to participate in a swap of the opposite seasonal theme. Just looking at photos of snow makes me feel cooler. I was paired up with the wonderful Christina of Soul Aperture. Another friend gained. How lucky am I? She writes, photographs and cooks beautifully. Well, I’m yet to experience her cooking, but one day I’ll have to drop in for a visit, if that’s ok?

These are my photos of the awesome package she sent me. She totally spoilt me with a scrumptious photo and cards featuring her photography. Thank you. Her winter photo has me excited for the warm frothy drinks I will enjoy as the weather gets cooler. And USA, you introduced me to whipped cream on the top of my hot chocolate. The best.

I’m definitely doing something like this again. It is such a great way of connecting with new friends around the world with whom you share some common interests. Are you participating in any awesome swaps at the moment?

(P.S. the chair is another piece from my husband’s family history that I enjoyed photographing)
